Field Details
XL-Bullies and Control Order Dogs: Please contact this field directly to find out if they are allowing dogs banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act to use their facility and under what circumstances. Many fields are unable to accommodate XL Bullies for a variety of reasons and those that do may need copies of your paperwork in advance so you must check before you book.
About This Field
Wendlebury Walkies dog fields are really easy to get to – just a few miles from Bicester and the M40 in in the opposite direction. These fields are located just off the main road and are accessible by any vehicle.
This site has 2 fields adjacent to one another with a shared fence but if you have a reactive dog, you can book on either Monday or Thursday when only 1 field is available to book to accommodate sensitive dogs.
- Langford Field
- Farm Field
Booking and Access to Wendlebury Walkies
The website is easy to navigate – just be aware that to book, you exit the Wendlebury Walkies site to a separate secure booking provider.
As mentioned, access to these fields is great – many dog fields have rugged tracks but this field has a concrete track to both field gates so cars with low clearance will find these fields accessible.
What is Wendlebury Walkies Like?
Each field is approximately 1.5 acres and faces out out onto a lovely view of the countryside.
These fields are designed to be almost identical and so it doesn’t matter which you choose. They both have a stone parking area, small field shelter, water tap, dog waste bins, general waste bins and a variety of agricultural enrichment around the field.
They’re both mown for accessibility and are nice and flat for anyone with mobility issues.
Are Wendlebury Walkies Dog Fields Secure?
The fields are secured with 1.8m (approx 6ft) high otter fence which has 5cm x 10cm holes. This makes it suitable for almost all dogs. The fence is laid into the field to prevent digging out.
The gates are 1.8m deer gates. The car park area is within the fields – it’s open to the fields (there is no ‘catch pen’) so you might need to leave yourself some time to capture dogs that are reluctant to go home.
Notes for Reactive Dog Owners:
- These fields are adjacent to one another, separated by a shared fence. There is full height screening.
- Book on Monday or Thursday for reactive dogs
- Don’t be alarmed by the ‘connecting gate’ – it is locked and is secure at ground level.
- There is a farm track that runs along the front of both fields and is well used so if you have a dog that s reactive to traffic, this may not be the field set up for you.
