About Us

BritishDogFields.com was established to help dog owners looking for safe walking places; landowners with established fields looking to expand their offering; and people looking to set up their own dog walking field business facility.

We are a group of dog field owners with experience of owning reactive dogs and establishing and running very successful dog walking fields in the UK. We have visited a great many dog fields over the years (over 250 – April 2024) and have developed a keen eye for what’s important.

We have also gone through the process of renting land; buying land; gaining planning permission; and all the other things you need to do in the process of legally setting up a dog field here in the UK.

We’ve consulted on and assisted with the set-up of over 80 fields in the UK since 2021, helping people to establish robust and successful dog field businesses that in many cases change the lives of their owners.

We are very proud to support the British farming community in their diversification efforts and the dog business sector in developing their own offerings in the canine world.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are ‘REVIEWED’ fields?

REVIEWED fields are those that we have visited and reviewed impartially, without any influence or input from the owners. We feel that this is the best way to provide dog owners looking for an exercise space with the information they need to make an informed decision as to whether a particular field is suitable for them and their dog. We cover elements such as security, the booking process, facilities, ease of access etc. These reviews are based on a strict methodology – is what you say your field is and offers, what a customer gets?

Can I book a field through this website?

No.
All links to book dog fields on this site are ‘signposts’ to direct you to the owner’s own booking facilities. In some cases that is a Facebook page and in others, a dedicated website or secure booking facility.
We do not receive any referrals for bookings or payment for listings.

Can I invite you to visit my field?

As you will know, there are hundreds of dog fields around the UK and Ireland and we have a big job on our hands! If you already have a page here, you are on our ‘to do’ list but if you are not listed yet, please feel free to email us with your details for the facility and we will verify you as soon as possible.

“I don’t think your review is fair”

If you have any concerns about your listing or that of a field you visit, we are available to talk. Perhaps you have updated something or improved your facility taking it into a different category.
Please email us with any queries and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Where we have not reviewed your field, we have used publically available images from your social media channels or your website. We have credited these in the appropriate way but if you would prefer we remove them, or indeed you would like to supply better or more up-to-date images, please email us at the address linked above.

Do fields pay for listings?

No. All fields are listed for free. These listings are researched based on publicly available information and are accurate to the degree that the information available is correct.

Reviewed fields have been inspected first-hand by one of our representatives. These are all sensible people who are experiencing your field as a genuine customer. The session they attend is paid for and you are not informed of their booking. Think of it like secret shoppers. We keep their identity as reps a secret because it’s important that their experience of your field as anyone else would. We do not, nor ever will use false identities to make a booking.

What qualifies you to review fields?

British Dog Fields is run with the input of professionals in a variety of fields that cover all aspects of dog facilities – from vets to planning experts; horticultural specialists to fencing specialists; and perhaps most importantly, a number of very experienced dog field owners across the UK that have all faced their own challenges with environment, legislation, customer service and every other imaginable hurdle and conundrum that new and existing dog field owners face from set up to daily operation.
