Field Details
XL-Bullies and Control Order Dogs: Please contact this field directly to find out if they are allowing dogs banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act to use their facility and under what circumstances. Many fields are unable to accommodate XL Bullies for a variety of reasons and those that do may need copies of your paperwork in advance so you must check before you book.
* We only list fields as reactive-friendly following a visit because reactivity means different things to different dogs! Details can be found on each review in the yellow section. Listed fields field may be suitable for reactive dogs, but we have just not had the chance to verify this.
About This Field
Rachel’s Happy Hounds Secure dog walking is 1 acre and approximately 45 minutes from Northampton and 30 minutes from Peterborough and is a grass field with a 6ft+ fence all round*.
When you arrive at Rachel’s Happy Hounds dog walking fields you will notice that this facility has been built on some sort of decommissioned military or utilities site and as such has an enormous fence on three sides. The fourth side is secured with a 6ft heras fencing that has been well secured – whilst heras fencing will not pass our accreditation standards, this installation is as good as a temporary fence can be so we still classify this as verified as secure.
You drive in onto a concrete area which is welcome in the winter months. Adjacent to the parking area is a hut (not useable) and this is where you will find the poo bin and a Mud Daddy for washing paws off. (bring your own water).
This field is great for training and recall practice and offers enough space for playing with a ball.
Note for reactive dog owners:
The field is bordered on one side by visable agricultural buildings which may have activity going on during your session. The Heras fencing is a temporary fence by design so anyone with a heavy escape artist will need to be aware of this.
Sessions are available in 30 minute and 1 hour sessions and booking is through Facebook or calling Rachel. There is an additional charge for more than 4 dogs.
