About This Field
Stanton Waters Woodland Walks is a beautiful 2 acre secure field 7 miles north of centre Swindon. It’s located on a private farm, easily accessed along a track, well set back from the road or any distractions.
You enter via a solid wire mesh gate, drive-in, which comfortable parks 2 cars. The parking area has a fresh water tap connected to a spray gun which is great for washing paws down at the end of your session and a bowl is available should you not have one with you.
This area also has one of several poo bins located in the woodland and a general waste bin.
There are several seating areas around the woodland and a small clearing for ball throwing. A nice touch is that the owners have positioned thermometers around which is a great welfare reminder and highlights how much cooler it is to walk under cover in summer time.
Fencing and Gates
The fencing is 6ft deer type but there is one stretch that dips a little lower than 6ft where the ground is lower. This is nothing that we would consider significant.
The gate is substantial and latched but we would recommend bringing a means of securing this if you prefer the security of knowing that no-one can enter when you are out of sight of the entrance.
Parking and Accessibility
Parking is on hardcore and provides room to turn around before leaving.
This walk is reasonably flat although a little muddy in areas but these can be circumnavigated by the many wandering paths through the wood.
Notes for Reactive Dog Owners
This field is isolated with no external distractions that we could see on inspection. The only thing to be aware of is that because of the woodland nature of the field, your dog may be out of site on occasion.
