About This Field
Pounders Parks are just outside Sutton Coldfield, north of Birmingham. This review relates only to The Buzzards Valley Field with Woodland Walk.
We do not recommend this field for the following reasons:
- The fencing was not as advertised (garden wire) and poorly installed, falling down in some areas – it is not 6 foot – we called twice and spoke to two individuals to verify the height of the fencing both confirmed 6ft before we booked. The gentleman we spoke to described the field as ‘totally secure’
- There was no instruction that the field would be so close to another ‘secure’ field – this makes it entirely unsuitable for dogs that may react to other dogs barking or making noise
- The fence had large lengths of barbed wire poking through at face height of one of our dogs – this has the potential to cause serious life changing injuries to a dog and should never be present in a secure or enclosed dog field
- The field we booked was a section of another field that had off lead dogs walking through – no notice was given of this prior to arrival or in the information provided on the website
- The woodland area we were so looking forward to was unfinished with rubbish lying around and groundworks/ landscaping taking place
- Both fields next to one another had the same timings so cars park right next to one another with field entry gates approximately 10ft apart
- The previous user did not leave until after our session time had started – this is not uncommon but particularly challenging when there are 2 fields adjacent to one another with the same start times
The Woodland Walk field offers five beautiful acres, with a very special woodland area to walk through and explore, with natural pathways which are intertwined between each other.

We felt that this statement was extremely misleading – the field itself is approximately 2-2.5 acres meaning that the woodland we expected to be 2.5-3 acres when what we actually got was a few hundred meters of path that made a loop around what looks like a moat that is being dug around an island.
There were some nice things about this field and we believe that with attention paid to the issues we have highlighted, this field would be an excellent place for people. The layout of the field and woodland is lovely with the meandering pathways – lots of work has clearly gone into this on an ongoing basis and this business also includes a well rated day care service.
There is fresh water and the gate has an excellent lock on it for those with dexterity issues
