XL-Bullies and Control Order Dogs: Please contact this field directly to find out if they are allowing dogs banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act to use their facility and under what circumstances. Many fields are unable to accommodate XL Bullies for a variety of reasons and those that do may need copies of your paperwork in advance so you must check before you book.
I’ve used this field a couple of times for my 2 lurchers – 1 of which is human and dog reactive. I no longer use this field (see below).
The field itself is great. Large, well fenced, enrichment facilities and loads of snuffly areas with plenty of trees.
But…. And this was the issue for me. There’s a public area/recreation field along the whole of one side where loads of people walk their dogs. While there is a (very small) boundary barrier about 3 or 4 metres inside the recreation area, this doesn’t stop dogs coming right up to the fence. The last time I went a dog walker deliberately climbed over this and walked up and down the perimeter fence with her dog – almost as though to goad my reactive. He, of course, reacted – as did hers – and there was almost a fight through the fence.
If your reason for using a field is just to have a safe space then it’s a really good one. But it’s not a place I’d recommend for reactive dogs.
I’ve given it 3 stars based solely on the facilities.
