British Dog Fields Membership
Support from a team who understands your needs
Have you ever felt a little like you’re in a strange dog field bubble? That you have weird problems that no other business owner has and that are entirely unique to you? Do you find yourself scrolling through dog field owner forums for information, only to find people making suggestions that really don’t seem right or that simply don’t apply to your field?
When we opened our first dog field I’d only met 3 dog field owners and had nothing more than a cursory chat with any of them. I didn’t mention we were opening a dog field (I thought they might get funny with me) and I really didn’t feel like their experience would be worth much anyway – it’s just a fence around a field right?
6 years on, I do have a chuckle at my naivete – what a plonker.
You’ll be pleased to know I was served up a dose of instant Karma! Two days after we opened our field the entire country was plunged into lockdown – we still had bits to finish (the car park for one!), we were up to our eyeballs in debt, and I wasn’t entirely sure we would be allowed to remain open whilst this bug was ‘going around’.
And worse, we had no one to talk to.
That soon changed. I was watching Newsnight and I heard Matt Hancock say something that could very definitely been interpreted as… ‘yes you can drive somewhere to walk your dog’ and I instantly clipped it up and posted it all over our social media.
It’s the first and only time I’ve ever gone viral!
I had thousands of shares and tonnes of messages from dog field owners from all over the country.
I decided that an off-the-cuff statement made by a guy who we subsequently learned wasn’t the sharpest tool in the chest, wasn’t enough for all these people to rely on so I started a quest to back this up with more evidence just in case we started to come under scrutiny and I shared it with those dog field owners who’d messaged me – we needed to stick together.
Completely unknown to me, that was the beginning of British Dog Fields.
I then found myself with a few years too much time on my hands so I crafted my own PhD in Dog Field Administration, Business and Science! (it’s not a real thing but it gave me purpose – I called it my DABS course!).
The result of my 6 year full-time focus on all things dog fields is now wrapped up in this Membership Programme/Club – a combination of a library of resources to help you with the set-up and running of your dog fields, help and guidance as the industry grows and changes and support for when things go wonky or make you want to pull your hair out.
This is an informal trade association – we want to keep this personal at the same time as offering you the support you would expect from a professional body.
What is British Dog Fields Membership?
The British Dog Field Membership Programme is an inclusive club of folks who operate dog fields all over the UK and Ireland.
There’s only one joining requirement – you must be operating a dog field. We established this membership programme to help everyone in the industry by sharing everything we have learned and know about dog fields through setting up and running dogs fields ourselves and helping hundreds of new dog field owners get their business off the ground.
We have enormous amounts of proprietary data (remember those 6 years of full-time study?!) that help us to identify trends and information that’s relevant to you.
We’ve engaged industry experts to provide important information, all focused on helping you to run a highly profitable, safe and hassle-free dog field business.

What this membership programme isn’t

With government regulation looming, we want to support all dog fields and continue to influence policymakers and stakeholders in the dog field sphere.
